Default The Meghan Markle Appreciation Thread

I can't believe that the producers had Meghan Markle in the series and they didn't include her in more episodes..

Meghan was the hottest girl that she had appeared in Fringe and they left her go?

    Why?

I can't believe that the producers and writers heard the scream of the p/o shippers who thought that she is a threat to the peter/olivia romance..

so what was the true reason??

Well, i dont think fringe is completely about being hot

She is attractive though, and so is Anna, but in very different ways.

Yeah, I certainly wouldnt mind more Meghan onscreen in fringe

    What else is Meghan in?

    ....

As an aside, on her character...

I think her character was good, the arcs well set up, but people just didnt like it because they felt it was pushing the character olivia out a bit, or stepping on her stuff. She was likable enough, and interesting, but we didnt get enough time really there to know her or like her - but hey, its not like we had the spare arc time in season 2.

Thing is, Jessup could be a great "mythological/symbology/unusual connections and links" expert of some degree, if they opened up a alt-history arc with this first people thing. Her enthuisasm was kind of refreshing given, olivia and peter are often slightly unaffected by anything from levitating heads , teleporting dragons to interdimensional wars (except if it involved them somehow). It would be cool to have someone else that gets deep into it on a more personal mystery/meaning quest level, looking for clues, like some of us audience do! (like mulder in x-files)..

That way they all have seperate roles, and it fits in the revelations references. (ie jessup could be more for that side of things, rather than in all the cases or fitting into olivias shoes as the procedural type, classic investigator using ones gut type role)

The Canditate is a short film about an underhanded company man who is offered assistance by a secret organization that immerses him in forces beyond his control.

    sounds interesting..

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing her back in the show. Her storyline had the potential to be really interesting, but it seemed as if the writers changed their mind. However, you never know with Fringe. They might just pick her storyline back up in the coming season. I'd be okay with that, because like I said, it seemed pretty interesting!

I've never seen Markle in anything else (that I know of), but I would definitely be open to watching her in something else. She's so pretty--I particularly love that first picture of her.

I doubt it was because of the P/O relationship. Fan reaction probably just wasn't that great, and when Olivia came back, there wasn't all that much need for a second woman. Or that much room. It's not easy to introduce a new character, especially when the dynamic between the existing main characters is largely familial, and now, in the case with Peter and Olivia, romantic.

In hindsight, I think this character was used by the writers as a tool. A plot device. Some arcs may have been set up, but the role of Amy in this season was primarily plot device. Fill the void that came with Olivia's comatose state and subsequent hospitalization, then fade into the background and disappear by, what? The fifth episode?

Hopefully, she gets more in the coming season. The arc they seemed to set up for her are interesting, and they really should be added on.

I hate it when somebody refers to the characters or the actors as tools.

The writers have used the same word about Jessup before sometime and I hated it back then..

Well, unfortunately, it seems to be true. She was a plot device. Hopefully she can come back this season and be more than that.

I only referenced the character as a tool. I've never heard of someone referencing an actor as a tool. A character yes, since that's the same as saying the character was a plot device. But not an actor.
