    Default AltBroyles

What does everyone here think about Broyles' double?

I find him to be very interesting. He is addressed as "colonel" over there even though he still runs Fringe division.

We know from spoilers that AltBroyles is still married.

I look forward to seeing tonight on "The Plateau" how he feels about Walternate since they will talk.

I like him more than our universe's Broyles. He just seems more intense. Like instead of finding weird fringe science he'd be unleashing it.

I like that first time we met him, when Olivia flashed over to the other side for a moment, seeing his desk and commenting on it's new placement... he's all like 'I don't know what you're talking about' with attitude.

He's a hard-ass, weird because he's still married... our Broyles is softer but divorced. Maybe his wife was/is a real downer and AlterBroyles is miserable(Deep down inside his stone heart).

What do we think about Alt-Broyles now?

A lot of people after 3.07 wants AltBroyles to help Olivia escape Walternate. I don't.

As I already said in discussion thread, I just think that him helping Olivia escape would be out of character.
He is an authority figure, he has more information than agents, and he must see grand scheme of things. So even if he wants as a man to let her go, as a sort of leader he couldn't.

He must understand that he does not have all information. Why would he help Olivia without making sure previously that he have enough knowledge to estimate the danger of letting her go?
For all he knows, her ripping universes here and there may cause enormous danger to his world, just like Walter's escapade did.

And Broyles has a son to think about.

Alt-Broyles is not privy to what happens in Olivia mind. He couldn't know when she became herself, only guess, and he didn't know that she was in the middle of going home when she rashed to save his son.

And I found out that I don't want Olivia to use his son as a leverage. Let's make it separate things - her saving a boy is just the right thing to do, regardless of who his father is. And if she asks Broyles for help, let it be because he is the only one who knows her situation, for example, or the one whom she trust to do the right thing, or just the one who is in the right place in the right time.

If it would be Broyles helping her, let it be for any other reason except "I'm in debt with her". The right thing to do?

But I couldn't imagine a man making sacrifice for just a greater good when he already has a debt for his son. Sacrifice for his family? Probably will work.

It was disappointing to found out while I grew up, but neally all the "heroes for a greater good" stories circulating became the stories of great fools rewrited... Former heroes either were young and reckless or made up by propaganda (and not only communist).

Broyles just doesn't fit in either cathegory.Lincoln, he still can be that type of hero. Brandon maybe, if circumstances are right. Charlie could not.

I am definitely going to miss Alt. Broyles. He was a really cool addition to the storyline. Also, he didn't really seem "evil" to me at all.

It's not really about that he's in dept with her. He sees how amazing she is and what she can do. She caught the kidnapper of his son, which he couldn't do for years. She made his son sleep again at night.
Yes, he's thankfull for what she has done and by seeing what she can do, he believes she can save both worlds.
And after all, he doesn't seems to be the person that wants to kill a whole universe if there is a small change you can save both.
