I saw a few smiles from Anna in episode 2!!

Still now all we need is Lance to smile!

Well, just think about it. She doesn't seem like a happy-go-lucky person to begin with (and hopefully we'll find out why soon...), and now her life has been flipped upside down and turned inside out. Would you smile frequently in a situation like hers? Probably not.

Aww, Olivia is happy again! She received a lot of compliments in this episode, and despite a few snide responses to Walter and Broyles, she was pretty happy in 1.07.

I liked her a lot more in this episode "Mr. Jones". And I really didn't see her response to Walter's obscure intestinal parasite thing as snide. I thought she was finally snarking/joking, maybe for the first time, with them. Kinda like Peter does, only with less...I don't know, acid. Although, Peter has lightened up a LOT in the recent eps too, so YAY for that!

But I loved her grinning like a school girl with Lucas. She needs some moments to break theloneliness and the darkness of the cases. And she smiled with Peter in the end, which that whole scene with the two of them complimenting eachother and going out for drinks made me grin like an idiot.

Do you think they went out for drinks in the end? I wasn't sure, it was as if that's what they both wanted, but neither of them had the courage to seal the deal..

Olivia has been going through a lot since the show started, and nearly most of it was pretty traumatizing or just in general not happy stuff. I can see why she wouldn't have a grin on her face the entire time. It would just lead to creepiness. However, she is not so serious like Broyles that she could seem evil.

She's doing a great job playing the dedicated professional who keeps her emotions under wraps by burying herself in her work.

I think we'll gradually find out more about tragedy, loss or sadness in her past.

I think Olivia smiles many times, but I think that's getting less and less, you know, she's been though a lot of things in her life... For example, Calleigh from CSI:Miami in season 1 and 2 were that kind of person that was 'a way too cheerful', but she changed a lot, she's not the same person, I think that's happenning to Olivia too, althout she's has never been the 'away too cheerful person' . But, well, that's just me

I think often all of Olivia's expressions are too faint & fleeting, but that has seemed to change a bit. Perhaps they are letting up on pressing her to model her character on Clint Eastwood. When she does smile (generally with Peter!) she has a great smile, so it would be good to see that more. For that matter, same thing with Peter; Olivia appears largely frozen, Peter appears largely sarcastic. . . on the surface. But there's more to both of them.
