Yes, it does sounds alike because...
Seamus Wiles = Samuel Weiss
Since we know that Sam is a potential representative of the First People race, the fact that the book about Fist People was written by him has a huge sense.
When I heard Markum say the author's name Seimus Wiles, the first thing that popped into my head was Sam Weiss. Kinda sounds alike. lol that would explain how Seimus Wiles knew about the First People.
Alright, I'm Observing already... Jeeez

Woah, I'm not sure if the above post was meant to point this out, but Seamus Wiles is an anagram for Sam Weiss. Definitely the same person.
Nice catch!
The book was published in 1897 by the company "XXX Waterloo Place" (I can't figure out XXX).
1897 is the year when the first commercial radio station was set up. It is also the year when Bram Stoker's Dracula was published.![]()
If Sam wanted the book to help people break the code, then why did he make the book so rare (The book has just one edition)?
Secondly, Sam has known Nina for quite a while. Why hasn't he help Massive Dynamic to break the code?
We know that Nina Sharp knows Sam Weiss, she recommended her to Olivia. Do you suppose she has any knowledge of who he actually is? How did she first meet Sam? Now there's a back story that we need to understand...
Seamus -> Shamus = slang for a private detective
Maybe Sam is a sort of vampire-like creature. We have only seen him at night, not during the day, if I remember correctly.
Most books only have one edition. Usually only very popular books have more than one. Having only one edition does NOT mean that it is the ONLY book printed. There are probably many copies of the book still left in various places around the world.
Who knows? There are many possible reasons. One reason might be that Sam is immortal, but not one of the First People. Maybe he spent a lot of time trying to crack the code when he was younger, but never succeeded. Or maybe he decided that knowledge about the First People and their technology was too dangerous, and that it should be kept secret.
I can certainly see a lot of potential for future stories based on that.![]()
As pointed out before in other threads Seamus Wiles is an anagram for Samuel Weiss.
Weiss has been speculated to be a "first person" and this reinforces that theory.
The glyph for Over There Pt. 2 was "w e i s s" and the infamous black board (in Walternate's Harvard Lab) anagram in that episode said "Don't Trust Sam Weiss".
If you really want to know more about the potential future role of Sam Weiss the producers have said he'll be back this season and have strongly hinted that he is a "first people" in the interview "Secrets of Fringe". I have a thread on it and the video in the spoilers section.
^ Damn! It's gonna be a great season.![]()
