I dont get what is the significance of the mark on Wyatt's head.
Through suffering comes redemption
Through sorrow comes exultation
Through the pitch dark comes the cleansing fire
And through the fire we shall find the spring of new life
I'm guessing what Broyles' son remembered, "Through pitch dark comes the cleansing fire," may have some importance? What say you? An ultimate clue - something to do with Peter and the Vacuum?
And was that some sort of attempt at a Hand Glyph in the port wine stain on the Candy Man's head?

Touched by the hand of god?
I dunno either.
I'm curious about that red birth mark and the Church and whatever the Religion/Cult is behind it, also that red man poster from the Church got me curious.
The mark is maybe a symbol of being touched by something really hot or bursting with energy (possible doomsday Peter). It kinda looks like a partial palm print that a hand would make if it had been pressed while holding his head.
Are they worshiping some kind of apocalyptic vision!!! so many religions and cults have done that from as far back as the Inca's to newer cults like David Bergs Children of God.
Another thing that entered my head was could the cult be built up of members from the First People!!! or using something they've learnt from them, maybe they survived by using the technique they used in this episode by sucking the life from children/people.
I'm not sure, but your theory holds value.....![]()
A port wine birthmark Over Here is the abnormal pooling of blood from a deficiency in the blood supply to that part of the brain. Sometimes due to an AVM (which I am unfortunately familiar with now and Walter kind of referenced an arteriovenous fistula in a previous episode but can't remember what season though probably unrelated).
So that part of his brain isn't getting blood and is dead brain matter and maybe the pituitary hormones restore it somehow??

Ok.... that makes sense. So that would be the disease for which the preacher/doctor came up with the cure.
Thanks elektrikpikkles.

The port wine birthmark reminds me more of the Horn Glyph (180 degrees rotated) than a hand print. Take a look. What do you think?

Ok... maybe. I thought it looked like a hand only without the extended fingers. The dot was more in the right place for that glyph. It's probably meaningless. Something meant to invoke discussion that they put into the show.
I think the horn is an example of a Fibonacci Spiral- and isn't the typed message this week at the Sprint site this week the Fibonacci series? Thought I saw that in the Clues thread.
Maybe that the pattern put in place by the First People is coming to be?
