The image of the man with his chest cut open from the latest episode is reminiscent of Peter's heart-box in Brown Betty.

There was so much about last night's ep that was reminiscent of BB. Olivia needing to figure out how to mend a broken heart, talking about the "other woman," how obvious it was that Walter ships P/O, reanimated corpses, although dancing and not singing (and may I say that that dancing scene was one of the single most disturbing scenes in the whole series?) observers taking quite a significant and possibly violent role in the next ep, It's looking more and more likely that we can take lots of clues from BB.

Also, this weapon was used to begin to cut out Olivia's heart (vivisection by Brandonate). Third, Rachel, who is not really Rachel but an actress and who was hired by Walter (or Walternate) to get Olivia involved and who claims to be in love with Peter could be a picture of Altlivia.

Personally, I adore this episode as a picture of Walter's messed-up (or is it?) perspective of seasons 1 and 2, and to find out that it might also include forshadowings of season 3 just makes it even more amazing. I can't wait for the observer-centric episode!!
I`d like to start off by saying that this is a cool theory, and I do think the similarities are interesting.

Esther Figglesworth, (the only screen name I like as much as my own! lol) the third point you made makes me think that either it was just terribly convenient to give the role in Walter`s story to the actress who plays Rachel, (what other female cast member could play that role?) OR it seems that perhaps Rachel was a "stand-in" for BOlivia in the story.

My reasoning for this lies in the fact that the closest thing to Olivia herself in our universe is well, her sister? lol I don`t know... it`s just speculation.

Default More Brown Betty Screencaps - Clues?

So with the winter hiatus here, and no Fringe tonight I thought I'd throw out some more visual clues from BB. Feel free to work with them.

    Operation Game - Broken Heart

The Glass Man Poster - and close up

A whole lot of Red/Blue and Yellow.

    License Plate - Nina's car

    License Plate - Liv's car

Peter breaks his "heart" into two, to save Walter, so that they may both live.

Okay, I never realised how much that heart resembled oxygen masks until now. :\ I'm going to take a guess and say that was done intentionally. Peter ....

It looks like 47 to me. You can kind of see the slanting side of the 7 through the windshield.

    Yep. I agree. Bay 47.

Good stuff guys. I believe we'll have a lot more material for this thread when the season resumes. Can't wait!

Not really a foreshadowing thing - but I thought it was funny when Peter commented on Olivia suddenly liking music (bc of course it was Altlivia), that in Brown Betty, even Walter is aware that Olivia isn't a big music fan.
Yeah Peter should have known she wasnt Olivia, people doesnt change that much, not even after seeing another version of yourself..... suddenly she likes music, it takes her over 5 seconds to remember a few numbers, she's so free spirit...she smiles a looooot

"Follow The Clues: Beyond being a fantastic one-off episode, "Brown Betty" potentially holds some significant clues for the future of the series. For one, Olivia's sister Rachel (Ari Graynor) is the first murder victim of the episode. Just a convenient coincidence or a sign of things to come? Given the Observers' previous warning that Olivia's in for some hard times, I'm a little worried for Rachel. Speaking of the Observers, in Walter's mind, they're working for Nina Sharp (Blair Brown). Another coincidence, or a reflection of Walter's secret knowledge? It's hard to say. There are several other clues you could glean from "Brown Betty," but whether or not any of them will pan out in future episodes is anybody's guess."
