CLUES AND EASTEREGGS
"The Firefly"
Welcome to the clues and eastereggs thread for 3.10 "The Firefly".
This is a bit like an treasure hunt for the various clues that are intentionally (or otherwise) built into each and every episode of Fringe.
The clues are mostly visual and provide fun hints and major clues to the bigger picture. If you'd like to play along, please do so by sharing your observations in this thread!
Here are some ideas on what to look out for:
The Observer - usually hidden somewhere in the background of EACH episode.
The blue lights
The "Next Episode Clue" - each episode contains clues alluding to the nature of the following weeks episode.
Any other clues, shout-outs.*If you want to check out last seasons clues and eastereggs, have a look through our clues library or the various episode forums.*Please note. If you know for a fact what the next episode clue is because you've seen the trailer for the next episode or because you have knowledge of upcoming info, you MUST use spoiler tags (for text) as not everyone watches the trailers. This thread is for speculation.

As far as in relation to the Violet Sedan Chair record that has been hidden in record stores as a promotion, one thing from this episode that came up was that Roscoe was introduced as the keyboardist for the band.
On the actual albums that were found he is not listed as a keyboardist.
For more of this super-cool promotion by Abrams (two new albums surfaced in Chicago today) see:

Really is it a spoiler?

I think this is an Easter Eggy type thing, at the end of the episode the song "If I Only Had A Brain" was playing on the stereo at Walter and Peter's place, the song is sung by the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz" which we have seen show up on the show before, the mural in "Jacksonville" comes to mind.
I can't recall right now which verses of the song played during the show, but the song could be included for both the "If I Only had a Brain" and "If I Only had a Heart" portions. Walter is literally working on getting his brain back, and Peter's heart has previously been the topic of metaphors on the show ("Brown Betty"). The song reminded me of the mural in "Jacksonville" as well, and I think that Wizard of Oz symbolism is probably a topic ripe for exploration.
So, who's the Cowardly Lion and who's the Wizard?

I think Fauxolivia found more than an 'easter egg' and that it will be part of the foundation and resolution of the season and maybe the entire series.
Aromaci has to be correct - the song ties in perfectly with Peter's drinking the formula put into the milk.
Walter concocted something to stimulate brain growth patterns to recover his own memories and abilities.
That now applies to Peter's brain.
He has now been changed and is, or soon will be, able to do whatever is necessary to interact with whatever that machine is.
This really should be discussed in another thread.
It's bigger than an easter egg.
^if this graffiti means that Altlivia is pregnant or something like that I will be truly and dangerously MAD!
(what if this graffiti has something to do with Olivia-her mother and her stepfather???)

They basically played the entire "If I Only Had A Brain" song, it ended though with the "I would not be just a nothin' my head all full of stuffin' my heart all full of pain" part which I mentioned in the episode discussion thread, with Walter walking off looking totally dejected during that part.
I think William Bell is kind of an absentee Wizard. I know this sounds weird, but I can see Nina as a Cowardly Lion type she puts all this stuff out there, does all these experiments but then kind of hides them and doesn't want to deal with or face what she's done.
