I thought it was pretty random...and funny for some reason but the scene did not strike me as significant in the grander scheme.
The scene where Broyles is on his way to the last Shapeshifter's place, and is on call with Olivia, we suddenly see that he nearly has a hit on the road with his car....
Probably the scene din mean anything and was just put there like that but I just found it pretty weird to put a scene like that for no purpose whatsoever.
Then I remember, season 1's finale, where Olivia went to D.C. and she was driving, and had a similar scene (near hit on the road with her car), later on in Deferred Momentum (2.04) we came to know that it was at that time that William Bell pulled her Over There
Do you guys think this means anything??

I know it is probably not significant but I just cannot understand why they had put that in there...I mean I just found that scene to be quite weird (Though I understand now why one would find it funny as well, the sight of an intense Broyles suddenly having a near hit and getting his balls up his mouth is kinda funny![]()
)
Completely off-the-wall idea: what if the "balance" that keeps coming up is what keeps people duplicated? With Broyles' double dead, he may become accident-prone, just as alt-Charlie has his bugs to deal with.
Probably just to add suspense and intensity to the scene, nothing more..
I really like this idea.I wonder how that would affect Peter since he's not only a single, but in the wrong universe.
I too wondered why the near miss for Broyles was so prominently shown. Olivia even heard how bad it was and asked if he was okay. Poor Broyles did see his dup and hear about that one's family, so he could be traumatized by how similar different they were, but the accident seemed a little suspect. We've had way too many characters have strange car accidents.
Yes, just remember how "important" car accidents were in Firefly - the accident who killed Bobby, the accident September used as part of his chain reaction, a near-accident which could have killed Peter when he was chasing September. I don´t believe that Broyles´ near-accident was just a random bit to add suspension. I think that these accidents have symbolic meaning: a metaphorical foreshadowing of the clash between the blue and red world.
