Who is helping Peter?

After re-watching "Reciprocity" we all know that Peter get's a Text Message about what is my guess...Shortly after that he kill's the second last Shapeshifter.
Then in "Concentrate And Ask Again" we hear Peter talking to someone about the Machine and how they've been getting information for almost 2 years now!

So I'm not sure what I'm thinking, but I'm sure Someone is helping Peter. Or Am I just hitting the Ball in the Wrong Ball Park?

If so then who could be helping him?

And while I'm at it .... does the FBI not worry about forensics anymore? All those dead shapeshifters and some fired bullets don't matter in catching the perp? I guess you grill some MD employees with Bell's perfect test and if you don't catch anyone, you just give up.

Peter also used to be an international con-man. I'm sure he knows people who sell guns illegally, and master hackers who might be able to extract information off of those shapeshifter-discs.

Yes but somehow he manages to sneak in and out and around his FBI dayjob while toting said weapons and whacking mercury-men without getting caught. It's almost as unbelievable as Loeb or Sanford not getting caught in their duplicity.

One interesting suggestion that's been made that I suppose should be obvious but never really occurred to me is that Olivia's amazing marksmanship skills that she used to bring down the perps at the end of 'Concentrate And Ask Again' are the result of her having been force fed the identity of Fauxlivia who we know is a master marksman. How bad-ass is that? She now not only possesses the special skills that make her an amazing agent, like her photographic memory, but the skills that make Fauxlivia an amazing agent. She's Uber-Olivia now!

Well, I don't really watch CSI a lot, who, I have been told are experts at forensics, but wouldn't you require access to the gun to match the fired bullets with??? I mean what are the forensics supposed to do with the fired bullets without having access to the gun which fired it?? There couldn't be any finger prints as well because Peter was using gloves. As I said, I am no expert at forensics so let me know if I'm missing something here.
