The shooting of the deaf guy was unnecessary, and I blame only her for that. I don't think Olivia would ever do such thing. But I've to say I'm starting to understand a bit more her involvement with Peter. I think after what Newton said to her she thought it was absolutely necessary to seduce Peter and I don't think she realized she had feelings for him till later on.

This last episode I felt for her the whole time. She looked really confused and distant when Frank arrived. She felt guilty and I think she said yes to him because it was the easiest thing to do. I mean, what could she do? She couldn't say to him "look, Frank, I went to another Universe and there was this guy and in order to save our world I had to sleep with him...". Their situation is really sad because three or four months ago I think all she wanted was to be with Frank.

So, yeah, I'm liking Faux more and more... I'm under her spell as well. I can understand why Peter fell for her, but I think he loves Olivia (from whatever universe). And I think Olivia can be like Faux, all the good things about Faux (the laughs and all), and it's Peter who will bring this in her.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but if you look at the episode again, you'll see that she was all smiley as she usally is when Frank came into the room. She was sure that her charm *cough cough* would get her out of yet another sticky situation. Fauxlivia seems to have been able to skate along life smiling her way out of problems or into people's hearts. I was glad to see that Frank was not buying any of her crap. Maybe for the first time in her life she's realizing that she can't just do whatever she wants, that her actions have consequences, and for once she's seeing how it feels to be hurt. I just feel sorry for her child. It's going to have her as a mother.

Well, we saw things differently, that's all. For me, her smiles were just her trying to move on, trying to convince herself that everything was fine, but she knew it wasn't. She didn't know she was pregnant, she had an affair with a guy in another universe, she's confused on how she feels, but she genuinely cares for Frank, what was she supposed to do? And even with all her "charm", Frank was still able to see that something was wrong (because it was wrong, she was different and distant), and yet, even knowing that, he proposed to her. And she took the easiest path, which was to say yes.

    That's how I saw it.

I think there are some contrivances, such as Frank proposing her, but I saw a more human side in Faux, and I'm glad I did.

I was confused when Lincoln got trapped in the freezer compartment/room/thing. Why would there be a passcode required to get out of such a room?

    Thumbs up hello everybody

So after I saw this episode I decided I have to talk to someone about it and so I joined this forum.
I must say that now I really can't wait to see what will happen with Altlivia and the baby and how will Peter and Olivia react to it...
I knew something will have to happen that will break Frank and her apart so when Lincoln told her he's gonna propose I thought that's gonna be it but then she said yes... and then when I saw they are going to ultrasound her I knew she's pregnant... I'm just sooooo excited!!!!!

So I'm late to the discussion, but...

    - I love the alternate Fringe team, with Charlie and Lincoln (and obviously AltLiv)- they work together brilliantly and I think their scenes are awesome; their camaraderie is really fun to watch

    - I feel so sorry for Frank!

    - AltLiv's dress sense is really cool. Just sayin'.

    - The beetles probably ranked in my top grossest Fringe moments. EWWW

After this episode I kinda like Altlivia... I don't know, but for some reason I warmed up to her, maybe it's the baby... I really can't wait to see what's up with her and I would love to see Olivia and her meeting after Olivia and Peter will find out... tht will be very interesting....

I'm watching this episode in the UK so I'm responding fresh without having seen the subsequent episodes despite the date. I see in this forum "lovers" and "haters" of the pregnancy reveal who all seem to have missed the real intention of the episode, going straight for the text and ignoring the subtext or writers' intentions. The last several posters do however seem to have understood them.

This was an episode written to deliberately make the viewer like Bolivia more than Olivia. To put us in the dilemma that in the previous episode it was suggested Peter is facing: it isn't obvious which one he might choose if forced to do so.

@origamiart makes excellent (but misguided) interpretations about Bolivia understanding the manipulative powers of her winning smile and exploiting it. I say misguided because I suspect these were not intended but rather weaknesses in Anna Torv's acting. I've suspected from very early on that in real life Anna believes her smile has power and knows how to deploy it even in the most slight, twitchy manners. These scenes may come across as false to some because they rely on Anna portraying convincingly something she herself has deployed cynically herself in real life.

But anyway - Take their cues, abandon your prejudices and let the creators make you question which side to sympathise and empathise with. Isn't this fun?!
