Exclamation Can we keep the hate to a minimum, please???

Can we please agree to keep the pessimistic, Fringe bashing to a minimum? It used to be fun discussing things around here, but lately the fun is gone. This is why there are "disappointed" threads if you want to express your anger over the storyline, where the show is going, etc. We don't need to keep creating more and more of these negative threads.

I don't want to tell people not to voice their opinions--everyone is fully entitled to it. It's just very disconcerting to see a billion hate posts and no positive, thought-provoking posts like we used to.

Maybe this post ought to be in a more general category, but since most of the anger stems from this episode, perhaps it's appropriate that it's here.

Can we keep the "lets all pretend to like everything about the show" threads to a minimum too please?

I'm with Rekka here. I like the show, and despite having had my beefs, I think they've earned the audience's trust.

I personally thought there was too much reveal of the Altverse, hated the Olivia/Bolivia plotline -- and then we've had a bunch of really sterling episodes.

So I give them the benefit of doubt.

If you think that they're doing something trite and obvious-- well maybe, just maybe, the show is going somewhere you're not expecting.

Agreed, and I agree that part of the problem is that rather than simply posting under the "disappointed" thread, for whatever reason, some people feel the need to start their own special thread to complain. It spreads the negativity around and amplifies it (am I mixing my metaphors too much? ) Then other people come in, see the plethora of negative threads and feel the need to try and counter it...

What did Walternate say about nature seeking balance?

Exactly. It's not even necessarily the negative opinions, but the excessive melodrama. Logging on to the forum and seeing 5 threads in the dedicated episode subforum with titles like, "OMG This Sucks!!!!!!!1" or "Who Else Totally Hates this Episode?!" that's the real downer, TBH.

I will agree with one aspect of your post. There is absolutely no need for people to keep making a new thread to share the same things being shared in many other threads already. And perhaps a moderator can merge some of these similar threads and put out a bulletin that users should be a little more observant to existing threads before making new ones.

Thank you, Rekka for your words of wisdom. I can't believe how much bashing of the show and the writers there has been in the last few days in the forum. And the Disappointed thread is there for a reason people. Use it. There's absolutely no need to start dozens of negative threads that discuss the same things. And those that dislike the show so much, why do you even bother watching it? We should enjoy it, while it's still here.

You seem to misunderstand the difference between disliking a plot point and disliking a show in general. While there are some that come across as extra bitter, the vast majority of us just want to see the best for the show. And we see the current direction it's taking as something unrecognizable. And we find it hard to just sit back and pretend to enjoy something for the sake of enjoying something. And while we both can agree that multiple threads about the same thing are unnecessary we can also disagree that Fringe is heading in the right direction.
