MD Parent company of Station WPKW?!?!

D-Roc, the only thing there is, no matter what, in every thing, "W"s will always look like upside down "M"s and vice versa. There are no exceptions to that. If the 'W" doesn't look like and upside down "M" its not a "W". If there was an immediate connection, I think they'd go all "Nintendo 64" on the logo and make the connection a tiny bit stronger. Its likely we will encounter more logos with "M"s and "W"s in their names and I garuntee not all of them will be related to MD.

Having never watched LOST, I can't really make an accurate claim about those logos. However, astheaticly, the connection is there. The Paik logo looks a lot more like a wave and the Orchid Station logo looks a lot more like the tail of a whale, but both of them relate back to an ocean and have very similar elements. I believe that is a lot more credible than the WPKW/MD connection because it uses more uncommon imagery that isn't always there, not the M/W connection which is a rule set in stone.

From reading about MD, it sounds like they focus more on the technology that goes with the entertainment than the stations broadcasting it.

I'm not trained in the anatomy of typefaces, but I do work with fonts a lot. Graphic Design is a hobby of mine. However, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, judging from that picture, its not the same font. Look at vertical lines on either side of the "M"s that are found in the in the MD logo and wordmark. They're all perfectly straight up and down. The "W"s in WPKW's logo have their vertical lines are slanted.

That still doesn't rule out the fact that WPKW probably has connections to Massive Dynamic, I just don't think its that direct. It probably goes like MD owns Company A who owns Company B who owns WPKW, or something like that. Or WPKW probably uses equiptment manufactured by WPKW. Personally, I don't believe this is a profitable line of inquiry, but who knows. Anything is possible with this show.

I like the way you presented your point and analysis.
As I had originally stated, I was just throwing out an opinion based on an observation. It may indeed lead to nowere...only time will tell.
We'll just have to stay tuned keep watching and enjoy the shows.

I have no problem at all with people arguing with my point of view, as long as they give an intelligent retort and not just say it's silly or wrong.

There you go insulting me again. It is my right to disagree with opinions I think are wrong, and by calling me a crusader because of that... well, I won't say anything because it will continue the argument, but I hope you can understand how what you're saying is uncalled for.

As I had said, it's also part of the fun. The initial tone of your response was a bit confrontational and I felt as if you were being venomous, sarcastic and cynical. I have given and have been given responses that did not come with such overtones. Perhaps it was just your writing style and if so then I guess I was in error of my perception....I'm not a mind reader.
As Rocky had stated, perhaps it is best to agree to disagree. I think it best we just focus our attention on the show and not each other.
