So they gave us a few answers and like a million new questions! I want to know why Walter and Bell were conducting the Cortexiphan trials and were preparing children for soldiers, when Walternate didn't know about the existence of our universe until Olive crossed over.
As for Peter and Olivia not remembering, I really hope we'll get an answer to that. I'm also wondering if Walter remembers it? I think that he does... It was so good to see Peter and Olivia's instant connectionAnd the scene in the field of tulips was beautifully done.
I didn't get the meaning of that "beguiling" comment from Walter when Peter first saw Olivia???
It was a slow episode, but interesting. I missed the regular cast though.
I'm wondering, how is it that Peter and Olivia don't remember any of this? Peter knew he was from another universe, how did he forget that? Olivia was experimented on every day for a while, how has she forgotten this? In the pilot, when she meets Walter and his son Peter, why doesn't she remember Dr. Walter that she spent so much time with as a child, and his son Peter that she clearly bonded with? I'm not gonna let it ruin anything for me, but it does bother me.
Great twist in the end with Olivia crossing over in Walter's office, I did not see that coming. A good way to explain how Walternate found out about the other universe.
I'm guessing maybe Walter started experimenting on children for the first time after he stole Peter from the other universe so he could find a way to bring him back again. Then, when he didn't succeed in bringing Peter back he and Bell started preparing for a war between the universes because Walter knew that Walternate would do anything to get Peter back to the universe where he belonged.
Walter crossing over is what made the universes fragile and him taking Peter was the reason for them needing to make soldiers of the children to protect our universe.
I could be wrong though, this is just how I made sense of it, feel free to correct me.
The Cortexiphan trials were supposed to have begun in 1981, & judging by the video of Olivia that we've seen Walter watch twice before, that seems correct. Peternate was not stolen until 1985 so the trials weren't because of Peter.
This was supposed to be the tweet during the episode:
TWITTER Q: Always wondered why Peter and Olivia didn't remember the experiments. Will this ep explain?
JEFF ANSWER:Repressed childhood trauma.
I was willing to give The Powers That Be some slack on the memory issue when the story line was that Olivia was only 3-5 years old during the trials, but now that we know that Olivia was still a subject when she was about 9 years old, I need a better explanation. Miss Photographic Memory can't remember anything about the daycare because of repressed childhood trauma? Yet she remembered shooting her abusive stepfather--& I would consider that probably worse than anything that she went through at the daycare.
Was there a preview for 3.16? Stupid Canadian TV cut away. And when does the next EP air? Thanks.
Thanks.
Great episode! Did not see that ending coming at all, so well done!
Peter isn't accepting them as parents, just playing along. At first I was wondering why he would have been so surprised when he first found out last season but now I'm guessing it was more anger at finding out that he was right all along.
I hope we get to see the stepfather get killed and I hope it hurts.
Oh, my dvr says that the episode was titled 6 Months Later, anyone else?
