I thought Olivia was like 3 when she saw the other side for the first time--that's when she started the fire. Or is that wrong. Maybe she first began the trials when she was 3 and then the fire occurred like it did in this eps??
I guess that they chose older (i.e. more experienced) actors this time, because the roles required more than in the previous episodes, where Peter only had very few lines to say, and Olivia only had to sit in a corner looking terrified. But it was a mistake to claim that only 6 months have passed. Sure, the actors try their best to behave like 7 years old kids - Peter in the toy shop was quite convincing. But the dialogues are sometimes far too sophisticated for children of that age.

This is quite common in movies and tv series: writers constantly forget that kids are not small adults.

If we follow any time continuum, Olivia should be much younger. In "Jacksonville" ep, when Olivia broke through the "obstacle" while under cortexiphan treatments, she was saving the little girl of her past who was about 3-4.

Also, if you recall the grow chart with the names of Cortexiphan children, Olive was second shortest in height but in this ep, she clearly was one of the tallest.

I do think that more that 6 months have elapse...I am waiting for the transcript of the show to be released. I am thinking that it is 6 months after some kind of event (not when Walter brough Peter back)?

This retcon business is very tricky I suppose.

The past events in "Jacksonville" were apparently in the spring of 1983, supposedly three years before this one. (I'm assuming the monitor's 4/1/85 is off by a year, since it could not be 6 months after BluePeter's 1985 death). The actress this time was too tall for six-to-eight, I agree, but we have to allow some license in order to get the best performances. Which we did. (Inconsistent dating does bug me about this show, but eventually you just have to shrug it off.)

Yeah. If they would have exchanged the monitor by ī86, and the "six months" dialogue by "It has been more than a year now", everything would be fine. I donīt really care about the real age of the actors, they did a good job portraying children. But I have a hard time accepting that Reiden Lake is frozen in April, given itīs altitude. *sigh*

Seems to be lazy work: they decide to do a flashback episode, and itīs like "ok, letīs go back to ī85", without putting thorough consideration into what they have already told in previous episodes.

of course, since quinn is younger than chandler, why didnt they just cast him again instead? who knows.
I heard he had another job.

For myself, I'm going to assume that the lake incident happened a few weeks earlier, late Feb./early March..

Of course we could just say the time on the monitor was wrong and it was actually 01/86 since it really did snow here in JAX then.

Challenger disaster took place in 1986. Shuttle on launch pad behind Walternate looks different from our space shuttle, I'm thinking it's a newer version. Interesting that Bishop Dynamic and the launch pad are in Jacksonville. Seems in the AU that Jacksonville (where there is still a defense presence today) was chosen over Cape Canaveral. Perhaps the "Nixon Space Center" is in Jax.

Was it even Jacksonville in the AU? Remember in Over there Part I
the Fringe team did not know who Jackson was on the twenty. Jacksonville was named after Jackson he was the governor of the territory.
