    Default When was the tea?

I'm confused. When did William Bell serve the tea to Olivia? It wasn't in "There's More Than One ... " when they met in the Twin Towers.

We actually didn't see Bell give her the tea in "Momentum Deferred". He offered, she turned it down, then she experienced a "time slip" and found herself holding a china cup and saucer. This leaves me wondering if the time slips were real, or something he used (a prior post-hypnotic suggestion?) to keep her off balance and make her cooperate.

    Is that so...

Then she probably had a sip during the time she was unaware of her actions (i.e. the time slip).

They'd be hard pressed to explain how Olivia acquired soul magnets any other way.

Come to think of it, it would be interesting to figure out whether this arc was planed from the start, or if they thought of it during Season 3 and retroactively fit the pieces together.

In "Over There - part 2", they ate at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Bell could have slipped something into her drink then. I'm sure there would have been other opportunities also.

Walter did say quite pointedly, 'a cup of tea', which is why I assumed that's what it was, but that's also possible.

I'm pretty sure it happened in Bell's office, especially since he rang the bell there as well. I don't have the dvds, but I really want to watch that scene again or see a transcript, if possible.

While I sometimes get the impression that the writers are making some stuff up along the way, I believe that some key elements were planned long ahead. Insisting on the tea and ringing the bell is one of them, and now it finally makes sense. I was constantly wondering which purpose their meeting had, because it was never revealed why it was so important, or was it?

There´s a Fringe Wikia (google it) which has complete transcripts for all episodes. Since links to unofficial Fringe Websites are unwelcome, I won´t provide one.

IMO, it just further shows how far into the future both Bell AND Walternate already know.

Whoever was on the other side of that typewriter in the beginning, knew of the meeting and tried to prevent it with the shapeshifter (the first one we see in an episode actually, IIRC). And of course, Bell knew they were trying to prevent the meeting as well.

Yet ..... Bell continued to exist in his world "with impunity" didn't he? Hmm ...

OLIVIA: When did you give me Soul Magnets?

BELL'S CONSCIOUSNESS: Well, you remember when we went to Kentucky Grilled Chicken on the Other Side that one time?

    OLIVIA: Yeah?

BC: Well, when you went to the washroom, I slipped them into your Diet Sprite! MUAHAHAHAH!

    OLIVIA: Oh...um...okay...

    BC: Aren't I a crafty little devil?

    ......

The cup of tea comment by Walter, coupled with the fact that Olivia drank tea during their initial meeting in the Twin Tower office, gives more leverage to the scene in 1.20/2.04 as the moment of soul magnet administration than the Olivia/Walter/Bell scene at KGC in 2.22, where there is no evidence at all.

    Plus, it would be cooler.
