Default Baby Dunham blood card is switched!

Here is the card when the sample is drawn

And here is the card that is handed to the someone (Brandonate, I assume). Its not completely clear, but it appears that Observer watches this, and says "it is happening".

Different card . . . note the shape of the blood smear, the angle of the label.

The second card was handed off to Brandonate (probably) for further handoff to Walternate; so what we're seeing is that Scarbrow Surgeon, under Observation, has either fooled Brandonate, or Brandonate is fooling Walternate, or . . . the surgeons or Observers are fooling them?

    Good catch

I will be disappointed if that's a prop guy error. THAT is something that is basic, imo ... use the same card in both scenes, or change them up intentionally so we'll notice it.

If it's an error, it's just one of many

Now if they were switched, who switched them? The obvious answer would be Brandonette or his minion. The other obvious answer would be the Observer somehow did perhaps ...

I'd bet you anything you want on that one. This is something that's being shown to us, and its not a random detail . . .

. . . after all, the episode is called "Bloodline".

If you watch it again, you'll see that they very clearly call out the handing off of the cards.

I take the meaning of this to be that the "surgeons" have deceived both the Observer and Walternate.

i dont know about the "surgeons" deceiving the observer but i feel positive that they did indeed fool walternate.

that surgeon guy who got the random blood smudge must have changed it with a circular blood smudge and handed it off to walternate's assistant..dont remember his name

the observer only said that "it was happening"
which could mean a lot of things, either the switch has happened or something else you know?

The first pic has the sticker not all the way pressed down--that could easily have been pealed off and stuck on a fake card. I doubt a prop error as obvious as this would have been made, especially when it's such a poignant prop, at that! Very interesting! I wonder what they're trying to hide...! If the cards can be switched, who's to say that the babies can't be switched, either?

I think you're right there. I think that the second card was handed in the stairwell from Scarbrow surgeon to Brandonate, and the Observer saw this.

[Walternate's assistant is Brandon Fayette . . . did he get the card directly from the Observer, is he in contact with the Observers?]

You make a good point. The "surgeons" (anyone have a better name?) appeared to be operating on the Observers' orders, or with their connivance . . .

Yes, watching the sequence I thought that might be possible. I don't see how a baby switch could have been made at the time of the blood draw, but that doesn't mean that the switch wasn't made at some other time. In fact, the "false" blood card handed to Walternate may be intended to conceal the fact that the her original baby is not who Olivia is now holding.

A baby switch? I don't know about that. I'm not sure how a baby switch would play into the game. The switched blood cards is intriguing I will admit.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but why exactly are the cards so important?

We saw the Dunham baby at the time of the blood sampling (onto the card).
The fact that Alter-Brandon gave Walternate a different card suggests that the baby that Fauxlivia has at the moment is not her own.
