More to Steig Minitape!!

OK, this is exclusive to this forum.

The minitape that Richard Steig buried in the ground has more to it than the section where he recorded Agent Scott threatening him.

At 1:12:02, Olivia cues the tape by rewinding it, and you can hear the high-pitched reverse audio... then she pressed play.

As for the high-speed reverse part, I slowed it down and reversed the audio so you could hear it in real time... and you hear something totally different. Check it out for yourself, and comment on what you think this is... (as a teaser for this brief mp3, the word "pupil" is spoken....)

It's there for a reason, what do you think it relates to? ..the ARG? ..a later episode perhaps?

Does anyone know what CC stands for as a medical term?

Sounds like one of the following:

1) a surgery
2) an experiment on a human

It's unclear as to the people who are talking. One could be R. Steig himself, but that's not clear.

Yeah, an experiment or operation of somekind sounds about right. Perhaps it involved Walter Bishop?..although I'm not sure how that would reconcile with the time-line if that is Steig's voice. Like you say, it sounds like Steig on the tape..or perhaps it's his brother? We still don't know much about him do we..

One thing which struck about the 'pupil' reference, was TheTheorists theory about Peter being a clone of Walter..hence walter checking his pupils in the pilot..

Instead of "trace of", I think it's supposed to be "tracheal deviation"

So the patient is about to undergo a CT Scan (among other things), which might give us a clue as to the nature of their condition:

CT scanning—sometimes called CAT scanning—is a noninvasive, painless medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
CT imaging uses special x-ray equipment to produce multiple images or pictures of the inside of the body and a computer to join them together in cross-sectional views of the area being studied. The images can then be examined on a computer monitor or printed.
CT scans of internal organs, bone, soft tissue and blood vessels provide greater clarity than conventional x-ray exams.
CT scanning provides more detailed information on head injuries, stroke, brain tumors and other brain diseases than regular radiographs (x-rays).

What are some common uses of the procedure?

CT scanning of the head is typically used to detect:

• bleeding, brain damage and skull fractures in patients with head injuries
• bleeding caused by a ruptured or leaking aneurysm in a patient with a sudden severe headache

• determine whether inflammation or other changes are present in the paranasal sinuses
• plan radiation therapy for cancer of the brain or other tissues
• guide the passage of a needle used to obtain a tissue sample (biopsy) from the brain
• assess aneurysms or arteriovenous malformations through a technique called CT angiography.
