Default Secret Message?

I don't know if this is anything, but I wonder if the domino pattern here is braille or something? I will research it ....

The chess pieces are also suspicious.

After looking, I'm no expert but I don't think it's Braille. And it doesn't seem to match anything in the Observer's writing, his binocs, or Daschels equation (unless I missed something) Hmmmm ....

It could just be the craziness that is a mental institution.

Question Theory

It might be Mose code.
The pattern varies slightly from image to image so it could be

4 dots - 'H' then dot,dash,dash - 'W' giving us 'H.W.'
or
4 dots - 'H' then dash,dash,dot - 'G' giving us 'H.G.'

I don't know what HW or HG means...maybe we will find out in a later episode.

Check Walter's notes -It looks like a representation of the piece of music to me. ETA -the base clef is EFEFEFEF repeating, and is a stepwise note. Awesome catch BTW!

HW are the initials of the FBI artists on the sketch of Walter's notes -H. Watson.

Agreed - that's a super weird chess set-up. No way that's an actual game.
In fact it looks like the white king is already out of play!!
