Anyone have any ideas as to what the hell that coin was that Peter gave his friend at the computer place?

I think it had an S engraved on the back side. The guy said he could have sold it for tons of money....

Any ideas? Possible clue for future episodes?

I think that was one of the most fascinating aspects of this episode. Without having seen a high-quality image of it, could it be linked to the gold ring around Walter's neck in the comix ?



I think it has been incorrectly identified as the US Presidential seal eagle ---- but I believe it is more accurate to compare it to the similiar eagle/shield design as that found on the Washington Small Eagle Cent, designed by John Gregory Hancock in 1791 (from googling). I'm wondering if there is a link? Esp considering the next comic is scheduled to come out tommorrow .....

ok so here is one of the better view of the coin. It looks like the outline of a state perhaps? Could be an original gold coin from the cali gold rush? You tell me

I just found something rather interesting. Either the crew made a mistake and used to coins due to several takes of the scene or Peter switched the coins... The first view we get of the coin is with the camera facing peter. You can slightly see an S shape on it but it could be part of the emblem. if you are having problems seeing the S i see it horizontally in the middle but like i said it might be part of the emblem. Sorry about poor quality but i have no good picture sharpening software.


The next view of the coin is several frames later and it is from over Peters shoulder. This side of the coin has a very distinct S shape on it.




Now heres my problem. a coin only has 2 sides.... So the picture in my previous post doesnt have an S shape on it. Now although the first view might not have an S on it that would mean that it was part of the emblem which simply by looking at the shape of it, is different from that of the "state outline" in the previous post. So by happenstance say the emblem is still facing Akim. That would mean that the state should be on the back, which clearly should have an S shape on it since the second picture of this post clearly shows it but it doesnt. So either Peter switched the coins for an unknown reason Or the crew screwed up and accidently used two coins, however for a show like this where we tend to look for clues, im not so sure about the accident part.

If you dont follow my logic ask for a better explanation and i will repost in the morning when im not so tired lol.

So I'm not a rube!

I posted in the official episode thread that I thought it was an awesome magic trick...I was watching him pretty intently and didn't see how he could have gotten the coin to his right arm that never moved.
